Course development

SynBERC aims to educate a new cadre of synthetic biologists at the post-doctoral, Ph.D., and B.S. level. SynBERC investigators at both the East Coast and West Coast hubs have developed upper division undergraduate and lower-division graduate level courses that are now being taught.

Our long-term goal is to develop a common curriculum that will be implemented at both UC Berkeley and MIT, the two institutions with Engineering Colleges. This curriculum will be implemented as courses that work within the framework of each university. Elements of the curriculum will also be implemented at Harvard, UC San Francisco, and Prairie View A&M University.

A listing of available courses in synthetic biology at institutions around the country is available at OpenWetWare.
