STUDENTS AND POSTDOCS: Please BRING A POSTER. The target size is 36" x 48" (plus or minus a little bit is fine). Here's a template PowerPoint presentation, and please use the SynBERC logo as appropriate. Here is a template poster document in Powerpoint. Mark your poster "CONFIDENTIAL" on the bottom if you anticipate filing a patent or invention disclosure. All research is protected by non-disclosure and industry partnership agreements, and confidential work will be removed from public view.

BOOKING TRAVEL: SynBERC Central will pay directly for up to two students/postdocs per lab to come to the meeting (we welcome more than two per lab, but individual labs will need to support their travel costs). You can use UC Berkeley's travel agent, Carlson Wagonlit, to make your flight arrangements. (IMPORTANT: you'll need to specify that they email the itinerary to fdelro@berkeley.edu for approval.) You can also book your own travel and submit your receipts for reimbursement the old fashioned way. SynBERC will reimburse SAB members and SynBERC researchers/students.

PARKING: Visitors may park at the Amtrak parking lot, located at Hollis and 59th Streets, for a nominal fee. Alternatively, guests can use the free 2 hour parking directly in front of the buildng on both the east and west sides of EmeryStation East.

We strongly encourage students to find a travel partner to share a room with. This will save costs and hopefully allow more people to attend from each lab.

Wednesday March 3 will be a brief session between the PIs and Site Visit Team only, during which SynBERC will address specific questions from the previous day.

SynBERC central will cover travel costs for SynBERC-funded students. Students, please find a roomate to save costs and allow more students from each lab to attend. SynBERC will also cover travel costs for SAB members.

AIRPORT & GROUND TRANSPORTATION:

The nearest airport is Metro Oakland International (OAK). By car or airport shuttle (driving directions), approx. 17 mins to JBEI. By public transport, approx. 45-60 mins. to JBEI. From the airport, take BART shuttle to Coliseum station, disembark at MacArthur station, and hop on the Emery-Go-Round bus. Take either BART Shopper, Powell, or City Shopper bus lines and ask for drop off at Woodfin Hotel.

From San Francisco International Airport (SFO), it will take about an hour in traffic by car/taxi and approx. 1.5 hours by public transport.
